End-User Training Checklist
- Set up users in Martus: Adding Users Overview
- Ensure permissions and Dimension restrictions are correct - go to Setup > Users and click on the “Users Report” to review. Ensure the invitation email has been sent out to all new users.
- Impersonate a few users to ensure that they are only seeing what you are expecting
- Create a User profile on your User to utilize when training. The profile can be given fewer rights and access to only a few dimensions to ensure learners are only seeing appropriate data.
- Set up Reports:
- Create a Default Report - Determine which report your users will use the most. Set that report as the Dashboard Default.
- Create Saved Reports - Determine other helpful reports, and save those as shared reports for your users.
- Make sure the Ending date (Last Closed Month) is set to the appropriate month.
- Budgeting:
- Set a Planner default budget for the current year and, as appropriate, the next year. This should be the budget you are expecting your users to work in.
- Set a Dashboard default budget for the current year and, as appropriate, the prior year.
- Prepare for Training:
- Set a date and time
- Invite users
- Provide a user handout such as the one provided below under "Resources for Trainers."
- Online Training Suggestions:
- Ensure you and the learners are comfortable with the technology for the video call. Test to make sure everyone can access the meeting and can access Martus.
- Determine if learners will be in groups together or individually at their computers. If they will be in groups, ensure each group has a spokesperson near the microphone for questions.
- If you do in-person training with your team, here are a few reminders:
- Test the WIFI in the meeting room.
- Make sure the screen you will be presenting on is large enough for all learners in the room to see.
- Encourage participants to bring their laptops and follow along.
- Ensure that there are enough power strips for learners to utilize.
- If you are new to the organization or it is large, consider name tags.
