Creating a Reforecast - Excerpt From our March 2023 Webinar

A budget manifests your strategies in a financial action plan. However, external and internal changes can dictate adjustments in the form of a reforecast.

Reforecasting in Martus starts with copying an existing budget. The typical next step is loading actuals into that budget, up through the last closed month. Then, the resulting budget is opened for updates from budget holders.

This mini-webinar is extracted from our March 2023 webinar. It provides a PPT overview of how to create a reforecast budget, then walks through the entire process in Martus.

Forecast Reports - Excerpt from our March 2023 Webinar

This session illustrates two ways to obtain forecast reports from Martus

  • Forecast Report (Standard financial report)
  • Enhanced Forecast Report (ReportBuilder)

Comparing budget to actuals is one way to see if your strategies are working. The Forecast Report is one of the standard Martus Financial reports. It is very useful to give you a quick look at where your actuals stand, relative to budget, as you move through the year.

The enhanced Forecast Report is a template within the Martus ReportBuilder that compares actuals to an original approved budget and a reforecast budget.  You can use this template as is, or you can modify it to fit your particular needs. This video walks through making changes to data sources, updating the output of the report, and adding line-level notes.

(Note that the ReportBuilder is a recent addition to Martus, and access to the ReportBuilder depends on your organization's subscription contract.)
